Trying to download Windows 10 installation files to a usb drive but I get the error 0x – 0xA and the words “something happened” and the download fails. I would suggest you to check if there is any file in the USB flash drive because it has be to be empty and minimum space of 4GB. If there is any file in it, I would suggest you to save it and then format it. Start downloading the tool first and once downloaded, right click the tool and Run as Administrator. Tried downloading both Windows 10 Pro versions to stick which says requires only 6GB and also tried just downloading x64 version which says requires 3GB. Same error in each instance, “Something happened 0x – 0xA”. So the files cant get copied to the usb device I got the same problem but with deactivating the autorun. I also tried the version with the ISO file with using the Rufus pgm and this option worked fine as well.

I have formatted and tried multiple times. I get error messages like this:”There was a problem running this tool. We’re not sure what happened, but we’re unable to run this tool on your PC. If you continue experiencing problems, reference the error code when contacting customer support.

User’s post on August 4, Thanks Gordon – that worked. First time I tried it had problems writing to the USB stick – may have been the previous format by mediacreator so prior to second go fully reformatted the stick, then it got stuck writing the “autorun.
