Windows 10 wireless display not working free. How to fix a second monitor not detected on Windows
The laptop came with Windows 10 installed. Both devices are capable of connecting via the WiFi router, and when we first set both of these up one week ago we were able to connect successfully first time trying. I have checked many forum pages and tried all sorts but can’t seem to get it to work.
I’ve updated all my drivers, on both the laptop and the TV, I’ve re-set the TV from scratch, disconnected both devices from Wi-Fi, reconnected and tried again, I’ve changed my preferred Network bands 2. If you could please help i’d be very grateful. This thread is locked.

Some background info – I contacted Samsung support yesterday and went through their troubleshooting processes including re-setting the TV from scratch, disconnecting from Wi-Fi and re-connecting, checking all latest software updates etc.
I have just been in contact with Samsung again, and the agent online changed his advice to say firstly that the TV no longer supports this feature and that my first time connection was a ‘glitch’. This can’t be right as the TV has the same software as when I first used it and successfully connected, nothing has changed since. And also the TV has a PC Source channel built in which tells you exactly how to connect a laptop wirelessly – why would they then stop supporting this function?
Now he is exploring any issues with the Network and still trying to troubleshoot, asking whether the issue stays the same on a different Wi-Fi connection, but I am not familiar with any house that has 2 Wi-Fi connections so unfortunately can’t test this theory. I feel as though I’m hitting a brick wall with Samsung. I don’t think their advice will go any further than “reset the TV”, “it was a glitch”, and now I’m getting “there may be network restrictions”.
Yes, it is listed and recognised. I have tried to disconnect the TV and re-connect but to no success :. Unfortunately this hasn’t worked. I went into Bluetooth settings, disconnected from the TV.
Restarted my laptop and tried to re-connect but has not worked. I have tried to download this app six times using the ‘download for windows’ link. When it gets to the end of the installation wizard it says that the software has been installed successfully.
I ticked “open after exiting wizard” but then nothing happens, and in my start menu it doesn’t say anything has been downloaded! Have updated windows, all graphics card, network drivers etc. The TV has the most recent software update also. Windows says ‘Couldn’t connect’.
That’s all. Then the TV also says ‘can’t connect to Desktop, try another device’. I did try another device and my phone works with Smart View. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

Is the TV listed under Bluetooth connections? Have you restarted the PC? In reply to Time Lady’s post on May 1, Hello Time Lady : Yes, it is listed and recognised.
I have tried to disconnect the TV and re-connect but to no success : Thanks. Did you add the TV via the monitors or other option? The TV registers the attempted connection but then it all stops and error message shows. Thanks for your advice – bit of a strange one! It is a puzzle. Is there any error message? At this time I would say that it was a fluke the TV connected the first time. I will keep looking. I am cursed! In response to your previous message: – Yes, both devices are fully up to date.
